In 1931 Dunlop introduced the first multi-ply laminated wood tennis racquet, appropriately named the "Maxply." The Dunlop "Maxply" model was extremely popular and was manufactured for more than 50 years, ending production in 1983.

Wooden racquet with blue and white synthetic strings (possibly not original). The racquet has an oval head and a concave throat and burgundy leather wrapped around the grip. There are red, black and yellow shoulder wraps and red neck wraps. Printed on the throat is a gold banner with red lettering, and a red banner over a rising sun.
