The first midsize (85-95 square inches) tennis racquet was invented and introduced in 1976 by German Siegfried Kuebler. Even today, most professional players use a midsize (or midsize plus which is 95-105 square inches) racquet. Overall, the midsize racquet has been the best-selling and preferred size racquet since its introduction to the global market.

Aluminum tennis racquet with nylon strings. The racquet has a midsize oval head with a red plastic yoke with raised black lettering on the back. There is a black plastic grommet strip around the head anchoring the nylon strings. The handle and butt are red plastic with a foam core, and the grip is wrapped in light brown leather secured at the top with black tape.

Donor notes that this racquet was the "second midsize racquet made worldwide." [Model was the first mid-size manufactured. We understand this physical racquet was literally the second racquet he manufactured of this design.]
